Prof Shankar Prakash

Prof. Shankar Prakash Founder of Spiyr Knowledge Solutions Private Limited, is an
independent educator and consultant, serving as an Adjunct Professor at the Indian
Institute of Management Udaipur (IIM Udaipur). He brings over 20 years of experience
in business transformation consulting across IT services strategy, operations, and business
consulting. He holds an Executive Fellow in Management (DBA) and an MBA (PGP)
from the Indian School of Business. As an applied deep tech researcher, his work lies at the
intersection of technology and business management, with a strong focus on AI/ML pipelines
that combine neural networks and classical rule-based techniques for knowledge synthesis.
His research interests include strategies to accelerate deep technology adoption in core
industries, its implications for business models, and the evolving Future of Work.
Prof. Shankar teaches courses on Artificial Intelligence, Future of Work, Internet of
Things, Blockchain, and Digital Transformation to MBA students and practicing
managers. He was invited by the Reserve Bank of India to mentor three finalists at the
Global Hackathon HARBINGER 2021, where two of the mentored startups emerged as
runners-up for their work on digital payments fraud detection using social media analytics.
He also served as a Jury Member for HARBINGER 2024.
Over his career, he has held leadership & engineering roles at organizations such as IBM,
Ernst & Young, Wipro, Microland, Bangalore Labs, and Brakes India (TVS Group). His
consulting work spans telecommunications, banking, travel and transportation, IT/ITES, and
utilities—delivering transformation initiatives that create measurable business value.
